is not as easy as you might think. As of yet the Average player podcast does not yet exist so I doubt that anyone is reading this. If you are reading this then obviously the podcast was successful and all the following obstacles that I overcame to make it happen were worth it.
Okay so a while ago I was listening to one of my favorite podcast(the now defunct EGM Live*) and thought to myself that it would be great if I could make one myself. Unfortunately this is not as easy as I thought that it would be. Me and my varying cast have made three attempts to start up the podcast and they went as followed
1. Impromptu recording on a Hello Pikachu microphone with only me and our now tech producer. It was while we were recording that I found out that my tech producer has a horrible public speaking fear even if that public is sitting behind their own monitors miles away days after you've already to spoke. So attempt one boiled down to boring spur of the moment segments, bad sound quality, and a stammering tech producer with me encouraging him in the background.
STRIKE 1
2. Somewhat preplanned with full staff of 3 and a tech producer. Nice and long with interesting segments and just a general sense of fun and excitement. All this recorded on a nice high quality video camera supplied by my new co-host. Unfortunately when I received the recording from our tech producer I found out that the recording might have been a little to good as it had picked all the sound with perfect quality, unfortunately this included the whispered background chatter so while my co-host was talking with our guest about the best Xbox live multiplayer games it was quite clear that me and my tech producer were talking about how much we hated our English teacher. Needless to say this might have been just a little bit distracting.

3. Impromptu recording in a public park with me, my co-host and tech producer who were both more interested in playing with my DS and ipod Touch respectively than they were with making any thing even resembling a podcast. Worst attempt yet.
STRIKE 3
That's it three strikes and your out... right? NO! We're young we're teenagers we like to rebel to go against the rules so we're just going to keep going at it until we get it right. But this time this will be a little bit more organized this time I'm getting all the shit together first. Which brings me back to my main topic, it isn't as easy as I thought, planned segments, an organized cast, microphones, audio editing software, RSS feed hosting, web site hosting, blog hosting(found that one) these are all things that you need to make a successful podcast. But I'm getting there and hopefully this will turn out right this time. Well guess we're all going to have to wait until January to find out.
Until then this is Zac signing out.
